Darian 'Darry' Michael Carter, possesses the physical appearance of a 21-year-old, though he is actually 748 years old. He has shoulder length pitch black hair and dark brown(almost black) eyes. Some would say that his eyes look as though they can see right into your soul, making them his most beautiful and chilling feature. He stands about 6'1" and weighs in at roughly 170 lbs. Though most think that he is just a twig, do not be fooled by his lean appearance. He possesses a very large amount of compact muscle, making him seem as though he is weak when he is really quite strong.
Preferring darker themed clothes to suit his status as a fallen angel, Darry often wears lots of black. He is a fairly large fan of anything having to do with chains, seeing as he feels like he is bound by the decisions that have forced him into this new lifestyle. Tending to rock the alternative/emo clothing brands and other aspects of that look, his hair is often either greased back or hanging around his face. He also isn't a fan of associating himself with people and, as a result, sometimes uses his style as an attempt to scare them away with the use of black eyeliner and other dark forms of make-up that are suitable for men. - Species: Fallen Angel

- Personal History:
Darian Michael Carter was originally born a human back in the year 1264. Though his mortal name was something quite different(and more time appropriate) it has changed so many times over the years of his existence that he no longer is able to recall what it was originally was. His life as a human was an exceptional one as he followed in the footsteps of his father who was a deacon of their church. The fact that he wasn't able to mess around with other kids his age growing up(as his father looked down on them as sinners) didn't really bother him all that much, as the life he had was the only one that he had ever known. He was baptized as an infant and raised in the church, always striving to be the most god-loving boy that he could be.
By the time he was 15, Darian was out preaching the Word to everyone he could strike up a conversation with. His youthful appearance made others more than willing to talk to him, however, as he originally possessed light blonde hair and stunning blue eyes. He was thoroughly convinced that there was no other way to live, except as a dedicated member of the church, and made that more than clear to everyone he met. Willing to share his beliefs with anyone who could spare an ear, even for only a few minutes, Darry told them about the light of the Gods in such a way that many joined his father's congregation on the spot.
At the age of 20, Darian was officially ordained into his father's church as a priest and youth minister. Sadly, he would never get the chance to live out his full potential in this role. Though he was a prime example of all that was in good in the world at that time, it appeared as though the Gods had other plans for him. On the night of his 21st birthday, Darry was headed home from the church when he was mugged. Accidentally killed by his attacker, he made the journey up to the heavens where he was offered the role of an angel in the hierarchy of the Gods' workers. After taking a quick moment to consider the position, he gladly accepted it as he saw it as yet another opportunity to help people as well as change lives.
After spending over 700 years as a servant of the gods, Darian did the unthinkable. Life as an angel had grown tiring for him, even though he still loved to help people above all else, and he sought a way to spice things up a little. On one of his many trips to Earth in order to offer mortals comfort and guidance(the way his post instructed him too), Darry happened upon a woman of surpassing beauty, as far as mortals were concerned. Though he didn't even stop to speak with her, he found that he couldn't seem to keep the thoughts of her out of his head. It was as though the woman had both seduced and entranced him and, no matter what he tried, he couldn't take his mind off the image of her body that seemed to be ingrained into his mind's eye.
Unable to keep his thoughts hidden from the Gods that reigned over him, Darian's sinful thoughts were soon discovered; despite how badly he'd wanted them to go away from the very beginning. Though he pleaded with his leaders to give him another chance, they were firm in the fact that he could no longer be an angel after having sinned in such a way. As a result, they banished him from the world of the heavens and he fell back to Earth as a mortal once more. Angered by the punishment he had received, Darry turned his back on the ways of the light and began travelling down the road of darkness and hatred. He now wanders the land in search of something (anything) that will be able to give his life meaning again.

The only thing keeping Garrett from rolling his eyes at Irina's snide remark on the subject of bravery was his small instinctual need to exhibit at least a shred of self-preservation. Though he knew that he had to have thrown must of that out the window when he'd decided to return to the large mansion he had once thought of as his home, he was also well aware that, if he made one wrong move or uttered one wrong thing, Irina wouldn't hesitate to end life as he knew it. After all, I did manage to screw things with Kate up pretty badly, he noted silently, watching Irina with narrowed eyes. Who knows what she's been like ever since I left. Still, from the smell of the place I'd think that 'not in her right mind' might be a pretty accurate description.
However, he couldn't seem to keep the semi-sarcastic tone out of his voice when he finally spoke up on what Irina had said. "Yeah well...," Garrett began with a sneer, "I've never really been the smartest one out of the bunch, now have I? After all, how could a young immortal such as I ever hope to measure up to the wisdom possessed by the all-knowing Denali sisters?" Though he hadn't meant for his words to come out with such venom behind them, the questions that he found himself asking had definitely come up in his head on more than one occasion. It had always seemed as though he could never reach any of the blonde-haired vampires as far as knowledge was concerned and he had often wondered, during his hiatus from the Coven, if Kate had simply settled for him because no one else would take her.
Seems like it could have been a possibility, he reasoned with himself as he stood before the door to his bedroom. After all, I definitely don't think I won her on my charms and wit alone. What could it have been then? Paying attention to Irina's words even as the internal debate was occurring inside his mind, Garrett withdrew the moment that the conversation switched to yet another sensitive subject for him. Still, he couldn't seem to keep his mouth shut for more than a second and continued speaking with an almost non-existent pause as he headed from one topic right to the next. "Besides, not being wanted somewhere isn't all that new for a vampire. After all, who wants a blood-sucking immortal around who just wants to drink them dry and then dump their body in some God-forsaken place where it'll rot? Not many is who."
After hearing Irina's remark about him not getting what he did to Kate, Garrett found himself unable to hold back a low growl at her words. Cutting it off almost as soon as the guttural sound began though, he switched to a sigh of defeat. "You're right," he told her with a fervent shaking of his head as he had a rough idea of how much Kate had to be hurting due to his actions. "I didn't see Kate's reaction when I left and I wasn't around when she had to tell our son that his father had no intention of being a part of his life. However, at least I can admit that I really blew it in this situation. Believe me when I say that I know repairing this situation is going to be hell for everyone. That being said, there's nothing you can tell me that's going to make me leave again. I love Kate with everything that I am and nothing is ever going to change that. With everything you went through with Laurent, I'm hoping you of all people can understand where I'm coming from."
Figuring that enough talking had been done, Garrett made no hesitation in stepping forward and opening the door to Kate's bedroom. Surprised by the amount of smoke that came billowing out into the hall, he took a deep breath before stepping inside as he didn't want to taste the nastiness of the now polluted air. Pausing to greet his mate in the best way he could think of at the moment, he found himself unable to either breathe or move as his gaze found Kate's. It was only when he saw all the pain that she'd been feeling since his leaving that he truly realized just how badly he'd hurt her. The emotions that he saw in her expression surprised him, however, as they mostly consisted of rage and a desperate longing not to rip his head off right there.
Unsure of what to do in response to her look, he quickly found that he no longer had the ability to move any closer as a furious Tanya suddenly appeared in front of him; barring him any further access into the large room he had once been proud to call his and Kate's. Raising an eyebrow in response to the blonde-haired immortal's utterance of his name, he found himself unable to truly be surprised by her not-so-welcome attitude. Well I wonder why that could be? he asked himself silently, sarcasm dripping from the thoughts as they flitted through his mind. Oh yeah, because I ditched her sister and nephew two days after he was born. I'm thinking that would put anyone's panties in a twist. He was careful to keep his facial expression black though, with the exception of the small gesture he'd made already, as he knew that Tanya would probably be far more angry than Irina could ever be at his betrayal regarding Kate.
Hearing Irina's comment towards Kate on the subject of joining them, Garrett's head swiveled around to stare at her for a moment with a hint of anger apparent in his gaze. So she felt the need to bring Tanya in on this? Little snitch couldn't bear to leave this between her, Kate, and I. Knowing that he had better be on his best behavior now that Tanya was among them was the only thing that kept him from saying some little snarky comment or another, forcing himself to turn back around to the immortal who had just set herself in his path. Still, he knew that some kind of greeting was in order here and so he bowed his head slightly in an attempt to be respectful towards the woman who had once been ruled over him. "Tanya," he said as he nodded towards her. "How have you been in the time since my....leaving?" Unsure of how else to put his little 'disappearing act, he could only hope that it wouldn't set any of the three sisters off.
Choosing to ignore Irina's question as he had no intention of leaving Kate alone until they had at least had a chance to talk about the issues currently going on between them, Garrett found himself slightly reassured as he heard Kate's response about it being okay as long as she couldn't see him originate from somewhere behind Tanya. Though it wasn't hard for him to tell that his mate wasn't at all happy with his sudden reappearance, he knew that he would never have this chance to talk to Kate again if he should choose to acknowledge Irina's suggestion and relocate to outside. After all, I had to wait until Kate was here alone before I even stood a chance of getting close to her. If Irina or Tanya had been her to begin with, I doubt that I would have even been able to step foot inside this house again, much less get a chance to speak with my beautiful mate.
As his gaze traveled downward the moment a slight movement caught his attention from the edge of his vision, Garrett found himself surprised to see the delicate hand that he would recognize as belonging to Kate's anywhere slip into the firm grasp of the blonde immortal now separating the two of them. While he was grateful to Tanya for being the only thing protecting him from the full-blown wrath of his mate at the moment, the sight still concerned him as he'd never known Kate to show any signs of weakness whatsoever. Did I really mess her up that bad? he asked silently, choosing to keep this particular question of his private as he didn't want to make the three immortals who now surrounded him any more angry than they already were. While I know that she and I were close, especially after she got pregnant, this doesn't seem like her at all. Kate was never the type to show off her feelings to the world. Heck, she really didn't even like showing them to me and we were mates!
Garrett couldn't keep his eyes from going wide as he heard a cheerful bell-like voice sound off from behind him. Having been so focused on Kate, not to mention Tanya and Irina as well, he'd failed to notice the slight sounds he'd learned to associate with the arrival of other vampires. Still, he would know that voice anywhere and allowed a small smile to shape his lips as the name trailed through his head. Alice, he thought with a relieved tone to his thoughts, knowing that she would never allow his coven mates to rip him to shreds. At least, not on her watch. She has to have seen how badly it would screw up Kate if one of them ended up killing me. After all, why else would she be here? Turning around, he offered the small spiky-haired vampire, who he'd learned over time to call his sister, a slight smile teaming with gratitude. "Hey Alice," he said, a sense of relief more than apparent in his words. "It's good to be back. I must say I don't think any of my mates have the same opinion though. How have you been? Bella, Edward, and the rest of your family are doing well I hope?" He could only hope that his cheerful attitude wasn't too over the top as he spoke. Truth be told, he actually was interested to hear about his cousins, as he hadn't been around to check up on him the way he would have liked.
His smile was soon replaced by a frown, however, as he scented yet another vampire heading up the stairs from the floor below. As the smell permeated his nose and registered in his brain, he forced himself to keep the myriad of emotions from showing on his face. Though he knew that it was Edward having ridden with Alice up from Forks, Garrett was getting a little antsy at the thought of having so many immortals surrounding him. Especially since the majority of them are probably trying to devise different ways to end me. Though I'm not sure where Ed stands on my sudden reappearance, I'm guessing he's not too happy with me either. Even with Alice around, she and I could never hope to hold off Kate and her sisters should they decide to go for it. After all, we are weak as babies compared to them.
Watching as Edward appeared at the top of the stairs before making his way silently over to their congregation in the now crowded hallway, Garrett offered the bronze-haired immortal a polite nod of the head. Listening to his cousin offer his a greeting, he smiled in response even as he found his silent suspicions validated upon hearing the hidden tone in his words. Still, he had every intention of keeping the conversation as civil as possible and therefore forced the snide comment building up in his throat to dissolve. "As I told Alice," he began with a gesture to the small-framed vampire who had come to his aid(or so he hoped), "it's great to be back. I've missed far too much in my absence and couldn't force myself to stay away any longer. After all, there's too much here that I need to take care of to not come home. I know that I messed up in ever leaving in the first place but I hope it'll mean at least something that I actually had the courage to come back at all."
Arching an eyebrow at Edward's sad attempt at tension diffusion, Garrett offered him a half-grin just to let the bronze-haired immortal know that he appreciated the effort his cousin was making. Still, he spun around in a flash the moment that he heard Kate's words as his mouth fell open in surprise. Though he'd known that Kate was hurting more than ever because of his own stupidity, he had never, not in a million years, thought that his mate would ever say that the mansion he was not in wasn't his home. If she only knew, he added silently as an saddened expression overcame his facial features. This is the only place that I've ever really called home. Even as a human, I never really felt as though I belonged anywhere except out on the battlefield. It wasn't until I met Kate, and by extension her sisters and the Cullens, that I actually found a family and what I always thought was my place in this world. I don't think I could bear it if I lost that as well.
Taking a step back as Kate moved toward him, more out of self-preservation than anything else, he could only seem to shake his head as the realization of his mate's words hit him full-on. It seemed as though words escaped him entirely and he could only stand there, head lowered as shame overwhelmed him in waves, while Kate spoke about not wanting him in her life anymore. It was only when she paused for an unnecessary breath that he found himself able to talk again. "How can you say that?" he asked her, finally understanding the amount of pain that he'd causer her as it now radiated throughout his entire body and soul. "I know that I messed up in a larger way than every before but how could you ever think that this wasn't my home. I love you and Feliks more than anything in the world, even if I haven't really gotten the chance to know him yet. He is my son and you are my mate!"
Growing slightly frustrated by the fact that Kate couldn't seem to see how torn up he was with the split-second decision that he'd made those many months ago, Garrett found his voice raising slightly as he desperately tried to get her to see just how sorry he was to have ever left her and their son. "And if you must know, I honestly had no idea what to expect when I returned. Yes, I knew that things would be hard and that there would be tension between us for a while. I'm not as naive as you all seem to think that I am so it wasn't too hard to know that things weren't going to be easy-peasy between us as a family. It certainly doesn't take a rocket scientist to make that assumption. Still, I never thought that you would be so cruel as to try and shut me out of your and Feliks' life altogether. It would pointless to try and deny that I screwed up but I never meant to hurt either of you. I was scared and overwhelmed when I left. It may have taken me some time to grow a pair and man up to the responsibilities that I have but at least I eventually did."
If his mate's previous comment had surprised and hurt him, it was nothing compared to the shock and horror that he experienced upon hearing Kate compare him to the immortal who had once tortured her in a Romanian prison. I know I fucked up but how could she ever even put me in the same category as Vlad? Yes I hurt her but nothing I did was ever intentional in the way that bastard's actions were. I just don't understand. While Garrett's thoughts were the honest truth, he knew that he needed to see the situation from his mate's point-of-view. He'd walked out of the Denalis(including his own son's) lives without even a glance back. No doubt she thought that I no longer cared about her, he added silently after a moment, keeping his thoughts in his head. I would've thought the same thing if she had suddenly disappeared without so much as a goodbye. Still, the pain Kate's leaving would have caused me can only be a fraction of what she felt as she was left with a memory of me in seeing our son everyday. If only she could see what that on-the-spot decision has done to me as well, the constant guilt and torment I've experienced ever since that day.
With everything that Garrett felt as though he'd put Kate and the rest of his family through, all the emotional pain and hurt, he knew that the time had come for him to make a decision. Would they really be better off without me? he pondered as he searched for the right words. Is it possible that I actually made a mistake in coming back? I only wanted to work things out between us and hopefully begin to repair the damage I caused in our bond, but maybe that was wrong of me. Kate's words only served to reinforce the mental debate going on within his brain and it was only a moment later that he realized exactly what he needed to do. "I don't know what you want me to say, Kate. I promise you that I never ever meant to hurt you or our son. I've loved you since the day that I met you and you should know that my feelings toward you will never change. However, I would never dream of forcing myself somewhere that I'm not wanted. If you truly don't want me around, if you honestly want me to go and never come back, then nothing I could ever say would change your mind. I've known you long enough to know that no one can accomplish that feat once you've set your mind to something. Therefore, just say the word and I will walk away right now and never return."
As Garrett's words drew to a close, the unimaginable pain that occurred simply at the thought of losing his mate caused him to cry tears of venom, the dangerous liquid pouring over his cheeks. All he'd ever wanted to do was keep Kate safe from the world and now look what he had done. After all my efforts, I was the one who ended up hurting her the worst. Looking at Kate one last time as he waited for her to tell him to go, he simply whispered, "I'm so sorry Kate, so very very sorry."
